SAFE-door Industries Ltd: Investing in the Next Generation

SAFE-door Industries Ltd are pleased to have taken on yet another apprentice to our growing business; we now have five apprentices from the local area assisting our highly-skilled workforce with the manufacture of our class-leading doors from the Thermal Solutions and Sound Solutions product ranges.

We have one apprentice in the offices on a 12-18 month Business Administration scheme, assisting with filing, invoicing, answering the phones and other essential business administration tasks.

The others are on 3-year multi-skilled engineering apprenticeships, and can be found learning and working alongside our skilled workforce in the fabrication building, composite workshop, powder-coating bay, electrical department and final assembly areas.

Techniques learned include welding, cutting, riveting, drilling, preparation of materials, building & wiring control panels and motors, polyester powder coating, and final assembly & testing of our many soundproof and thermal products.

All of our apprentices spend one day a week in the classroom at college nearby, and the rest of the time learning on-the-job at our UK design and manufacturing site in Brampton, Cumbria.

In their third year, they will have the opportunity to learn on-site installing the thermal and acoustic doors they helped to manufacture in the factory.

Luke, one of SAFE-door Industries Ltd’s multi-skilled engineering apprentices says: “I especially enjoyed learning about the different technical details of our soundproof and temperature-control doors. I am gaining the skills and techniques required to produce these products with the best quality to the highest standards.”

SAFE-door Industries Ltd will soon be looking for the next intake of apprentices to begin their training and development journey – for more details, keep a look out in local press and on our website during the coming months.
